Description 

This exciting role is responsible for partnering with the business to successfully execute on procurement activities for major Capital Works. This will involve Category Management leadership encompassing Site Services, Engineering Consumables and MRO. The Category Manager will also work across other direct spend categories as and when required for ad-hoc projects and strategic business support.

This presents a great opportunity to develop a strong procurement capability within the business and create a platform for future sustainability.

The Role 

  • Execute effective category management, control of RFP engagements, strategic vendor management and compliance to P2P processes across the business.
  • Ensure that Contracts implemented as a result of tendering and negotiation processes obtain optimal return of value / effective and sustainable Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
  • Ensure service delivery standards, measurements and reporting focus on meeting customer / senior management / business requirements and targets.
  • Liaising effectively across all levels of the business and external customer/companies, whilst maintaining excellent customer relationships.
  • Provide leadership in end to end sourcing process.
  • Ensuring all new and existing suppliers comply with relevant policy and procedures guidelines and Service Level Agreements.
  • Ensure all purchasing and contracting activities are in line with Procurement Policies and Internal Audit requirements, delivering on compliance and governance obligations.
  • Driving process improvement efficiencies and measurement where appropriate.
  • Optimising usage/utilization of procurement systems and tools.
  • Provide input into business planning process.
  • Develop effective teamwork and a dynamic workplace by supporting and developing team members dedicated to the delivery of service excellence and business success.
  • Lead, develop and manage a small team.
  • Implementation of risk management strategies. 

    Skills & Experience Required

    • Tertiary Qualified - Commerce, Engineering or Law highly regarded.
    • A degree in Procurement / Supply Chain Management would be highly regarded.
    • Accredited procurement qualifications [CIPSA preferred] desirable
    • Ability to easily understand business drivers and strategies and support these
    • Able to work as change agent / facilitator across the business
    • Well developed communication and presentation skills, able to communicate to all levels internally and externally
    • Highly skilled in influencing and negotiation – Internal and External
    • Conversant with and has a high level of aptitude for technology
    • Detailed contract knowledge and experience
    • Capital Procurement experience in manufacturing, utilities, mining or civil engineering an advantage

          Base Salary $140k package
