The Role
This is an fantastic opportunity for a procurement professional with strong contracts knowledge and experience in contract development, negotiation, management and execution.
Position Duties
- Act as the procurement contact for internal customers across all head office business units
- Coach new contract initiators through the requirements specification, market engagement and contract development processes, providing clear timeframes and accountabilities
- Develop and draft agreements and variations in close consultation with end-users, liaising with legal where appropriate
- Lead and support market engagement activities such as requests for information, quotation and tenders
- Prepare annual contract development plan, profiling the key contract assignments confirmed for completion in the forthcoming year
- Capture key contract development and negotiation decisions in a central location
- Own the Central Contracts Register and associated processes
- Develop the infrastructure needed to build a comprehensive Central Contracts Register.
- Provide administration and maintenance of the Central Contracts Register, and support for customer enquiries as they arise
- Monitor forthcoming contract expiries and provide meaningful guidance to contract initiators / end-users on the options available to them
- Reduce company exposure to post-expiry, off-contract expenditure by closing agreements with no ongoing need and scheduling the extension of review of others as appropriate
- Lead the continuous improvement of the Central Contracts Register over time
- Participate in the annual budgeting and biannual spend mapping processes
Skills & Experience Required
- Experience in contract management across indirects including corporate and professional services
- Experience in working in a mature procurement environment with strong processes
- A thorough understanding of the contract life cycle and process which enables this cycle to be streamline
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills with the ability to train end users
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to present to senior stakeholders
- Exceptionally strong stakeholder and relationship management skills
- Experience in commercial and legal elements of contracts
- Advanced experience in SAP and Excel
- Understanding and experience in change and project management methodologies
- Degree in Commerce or Law is desirable
