OneSteel’s procurement function has undergone significant changes over the last 18 months. The appointment of a new GM and the subsequent re-alignment of corporate divisions has led to a more centralised and cross-divisional approach to procurement.

This in turn has enabled procurement in OneSteel to be more focused on its core function of translating the holistic strategic goals of the business into deliverable procurement processes and methodologies. Day-to-day activities are focused on ensuring suppliers provide appropriate products and services and continue to strive to improve those offerings, all within a structured end-to-end category management structure. A structure that is supported by transparent reporting and analytics to ensure supplier due-diligence is maintained and opportunities for improvement are identified.
