The Role 

Position Duties

• Take responsibility for developing relationships with key stakeholders on site
  
• Act as the central point of contact in Procurement for site-based internal customers
  
• Lead and support supplier selection activities such as requests for information, quotation and tenders as appropriate
  
• Facilitate interaction between Procurement and key site stakeholders, and build up the Procurement team’s familiarity with site-specific considerations and priorities
  
• Work with other members of the sourcing team to roll-out training materials and process guides to key stakeholders, and work to share process innovations across sites
  
• Coach new contract initiators through the requirements/specification profile, market engagement and contract development processes, providing clear timeframes and accountabilities
  
• Develop and draft agreements and variations in close consultation with end-users, liaising with legal as appropriate
  
• Recognise projects that require cross-functional, team-based end-user coordination or the application of a larger process to tap sourcing opportunities
  
• Ensure that internal customers receive timely support and unambiguous and helpful communication
  
• Capture key contract development and negotiation decisions and insights for the procurement team to reference  
  

Skills & Experience Required

• Experience in contract or category management across directs materials and services
  
• Experience in working with multiple sites and the ability to build and strengthen relationships with a diverse stakeholder group
  
• A thorough understanding of the contract life cycle and process which enables this cycle to be streamlined
  
• Experience in Heavy Industry, Mining, Utilities or Oil and Gas is desirable
  
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence
  
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to present to senior stakeholders
  
• Exceptionally strong stakeholder and relationship management skills
  
• Experience in commercial and legal elements of contracts
  
• Understanding and experience in change and project management methodologies
  
• Degree in Engineering, Commerce or Law is desirable
