The Jigsaw business has been exclusively engaged to attract an experienced procurement professional to set strategic direction within the organisation across the technology portfolio and other related corporate services categories.

The Role

Reporting through to the head of Shared Services, you will have expert knowledge of the sourcing and tendering processes in line with federal government policy and procedures.

As the key lead for strategic procurement, you will be the key point of contact for internal strategic advisory across commercial management, process optimisation and governance.

The key focus areas for the position includes the full breadth of technology including hardware, software, telecommunications, networks etc, so candidates with a history of these categories and a proven track record of risk management, SLA development will be favourable.

The operation is de-centralised and the engagements will be dependant on the demands of the internal stakeholders. 

Position Duties

• Developing sound commercial practices for the business, ensuring standards are set and maintained
  
• Ensuring that value is recognised and waste does not accumulate. Identify opportunities to improve the procurement process within the business with a strong incentive to drive the opportunities to solution
  
• Identifying and implementing processes for the transition of the business to new procurement processing and reporting systems, while also ensuring that the business is compliant with the current rules in place
  
• Building an environment that is in control with risks identified and managed through effective contract management. The decentralised environment permits cost centre managers to buy on behalf of the business, but they must do this with the guidelines set by procurement function
  
• Balancing the demands of a decentralised organisation with the requirements of internal controls 
  

Skills & Experience Required

This is a great opportunity for any procurement professional looking to extend their procurement experience within a public entity in particular with subject matter expertise in Technology. The successful candidate will demonstrate prowess in contract law, procurement policies and procedures.  Excellent analytical, organising, time management and prioritising skills are required along with excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills for liaising, addressing enquiries and developing relationships with managers and vendors.
