Category Manager – 3PL / MRO

Description

The CBH Group is Australia's largest co-operative with a purpose of creating and returning value to its more than 4000 grower members from Western Australia. The co-operative's operations extend along the value chain including from grain storage and handling to transporting, shipping, processing and marketing to more than 20 countries.

The Role

Lead category strategy development and execute strategic sourcing processes across a range of categories including capital equipment, material handling equipment, engineering tools and consumables, vehicles and other operational materials and services (spend $60M).

Position Duties

• Develop and implement procurement category strategy with focus on cost reduction, risk management and process optimisation
• Project manage the end to end sourcing process from conception to contract award
• Identify synergies and opportunities to leverage spend and consolidate suppliers
• Negotiate terms and conditions, service level agreements and pricing across numerous categories
• Work with business stakeholders to identify and implement the optimum supplier relationships for the organisation using appropriate procurement sourcing processes to negotiate value driven supply agreements
• Work closely with key stakeholders to ensure alignment of sourcing strategies
• Gather detailed product and category knowledge and communicate this to business units and key stakeholders
• Implement risk mitigation strategies to proactively manage supply issues
• Building and maintaining linkages between Procurement and other key stakeholder functions

Skills & Experience Required

• Previous experience in strategic sourcing and / or category management of the above mentioned materials and services.
  
• Resources, Agriculture, Petrochemicals industry experience is desirable, however, not mandatory
  
• Proven experience in delivering value through effective strategic sourcing and category management
  
• Strategic thinking, commercial acumen and the ability to build strong relationships with the business and suppliers
  
• A highly motivated team player with strong negotiation skills coupled with tertiary qualifications
