The CBH Group is Australia's largest co-operative with a purpose of creating and returning value to its more than 4000 grower members from Western Australia. The Group has net assets of $1.1 billion and an annual turnover of around $1.5 billion.
The co-operative's operations extend along the value chain including from grain storage and handling to transporting, shipping, processing and marketing to more than 20 countries. Recently, CBH has also announced a $175million investment in locomotives and wagons for rail and signed with a new above rail operator.
Almost 200 receival sites are located throughout WA's wheat belt with the co-operative's head office based in West Perth and other offices are located in Eastern Australia, Japan and Hong Kong.

Procurement at CBH
Centralised strategic procurement is still relatively new to CBH with the concept being implemented only 18 months ago. The team now has a strong focus on integrating Category Management, Contract Management, Transaction Management, and Supplier Relationship Management. These core activities are supported by a strong focus on procurement governance through policy and procedures, change management, key stakeholder management, continuous improvement and supplier performance management.
The team consists of 16 results oriented Procurement professionals who over this short period have made a considerable impact on the businesses bottom line as well as creating substantial value and managing risk. The Procurement function reports to the CFO and is being championed by an experienced Group Procurement Manager who has accountability for over $500M spend across a diverse range of categories.
