The Role
This role will play an integral part in developing and implementing procurement strategies for pre-determined categories that deliver maximum value from the supply market and are aligned to the overall category strategy. You will support the development of the category plan based on robust profiling and detailed market analysis. You will support the business to implement supplier performance and contract management processes. Where appropriate you will support the development of key performance indicators and facilitate regular performance and contract reviews with suppliers in connection with assigned categories. You will also play an active role in supporting the development and deployment of all procurement systems.
Position Duties
- Approval and selection of suppliers (up to specified values or risk profile)
- Approval of contracts, SLA’s and KPI’s (up to specified values or risk profile)
- Financial decisions in respect of procurement benefits and application to the company’s business plan
- Influence Opex spend of $50 million
- Influence Capex spend total value dependent on current projects in category or business unit
- Achieve annual procurement benefit approx. $5million (depending on category)
- Lead (virtual (cross functional) teams – up to 10 people per project depending on category, projects or business unit
Skills & Experience Required
- 3 - 5 years working at a procurement adviser/category management level
- Experience in leading sourcing projects in a multifaceted corporate environment. Has guided cross functional teams to develop and implement acquisition strategies, incorporating leading commercial negotiations and contract development
- Proven ability in project management and the achievement of deadlines
- Demonstrated experience in contract management and supplier management to achieve organisational objectives.
- Experience in the formulation of KPI’s and SLA’s
- Experience with balanced scorecards in relation to supplier management
- Experience with electronic tender processes/applications
- Able to lead strategic sourcing, contract development, supplier management and development and key procurement metrics reporting
- Able to benchmark relevant procurement & commercial information and develop viable commercial options
- Sound understanding of procurement methodologies - Market analysis, Acquisition plans,
- Negotiation plans, Tender process, Contract preparation, Contract execution, Contract management, Supplier development/management
