The Role 

This role is responsible for the leadership of the Procurement team and oversees the development of a Centre of Excellence for the organisation.

You will work with stakeholders to transform Procurement into a “valued business partner” and prioritise and lead sourcing projects for internal customers across the corporate and retail businesses.

Position Duties

• Deliver transformation initiatives and maintain a centre of excellence including roll out of training and documentation of Sourcing guidelines, delivery of training and development across the team and organisation and to oversee the implementation of a robust central contracts register
  
• Work to support the priorities for procurement activities within each business unit, under multiple directors including the General Counsel, visiting each business unit and site at least biannually
  
• Develop and maintain performance assessment measures that reflect the full range of roles played by the procurement function
  
• Socialise the scorecard KPIs with key stakeholders so there is transparency and stakeholder buy-in across the business, clarity of purpose and consensus on how projects will be prioritised wherever trade-offs are necessary
  
• Commercial and Quality stewardship of active supplier selection projects
  
• Initiate projects to drive accuracy and efficiency in the vendors, materials, services and accounts payable modules in SAP, improving end-to-end transaction management and associated processes
  
• Provide day-to-day management of team members, meeting performance evaluation, development, recruitment, leave management and other milestones in line with standard TRUenergy company policy
  
• Develop a structured and transparent training calendar and invest in careful performance evaluation and coaching
  
• Issue regular notices about Procurement achievements, insights, challenges, and relevant tools, training and reference material to key stakeholder distribution list 
  

Skills & Experience Required

• Degree qualified, with additional post-graduate studies in commerce, engineering or law desirable
• Demonstrated experience spanning successful strategic sourcing exercises and experience supporting operations-based and corporate stakeholders
• Experience in team management roles, and evidence of coaching teams through periods of change
• Change management and facilitation in cross-functional contexts
• Experience in site-based, operational working environments and retail businesses highly regarded
• Deep knowledge of sourcing methods and end-to-end procurement activities, including familiarity with purchasing system
• Collaborative, customer-focussed style with the capacity to build partnerships across the business, including on site and within the Retail business
• Natural integrity
• Capacity to coach team members and set expectations for high performance
