Integral Energy also has over 50 years of experience in managing one of Australia’s largest energy networks. Every day they distribute electricity to over 2.1 million people in households and businesses across 24,500 square kilometres of Greater Western Sydney, the Illawarra, and the Southern Highlands of NSW.

They are currently transcending from a short term purchasing environment into a long term centralised strategic platform which will be heavily supported by category management.

The objective of this role is to assist with the development of commodity profiles through dynamic analysis of cost structures, supplier research, market indicators and expenditure opportunities.

Position Duties

  • Proactively support Category Managers develop category plans through dynamic analysis of cost structures, supplier research, market indicators and expenditure opportunities.
  • Develop tools and methodologies to classify expenditure into categories that support the development of category plans.
  • Proactively use of data analysis (Excel, MS Access, Ellipse, Databases) tools to identify opportunities to aggregate expenditure into better commercial outcomes.
  • Through the direction of Category Managers, conduct supply market research and analysis to identify global suppliers, new products/services and innovative solutions.
  • Review financial records to evaluate the extent to which users of procurement services are complying with procurement policies and procedures.
  • Prepare detailed assessment studies and reports, including findings, analyses and recommendations to contribute to the improvement of specified business processes.
  • Develop information collection methods, perform surveys, research and analytical studies operations to support decision making in respect of procurement and improved business processes.
  • Design analytical tools and methodologies including data modelling and statistical analysis techniques to improve procurement outcomes and support decision making.
  • Prepare reports and assist in implementing continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business such as a Diploma or Bachelor Degree or substantial progression towards obtaining such qualifications.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in conducting market research or analysis – preferably in a procurement or finance-related field.
  • Highly developed analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to condense complex analysis into concise and thoughtful presentations or reports.
  • IT proficient – particularly in relation to Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access and data mining tools. Preferred experience with Ellipse.
  • Preferred understanding of Integral Energy’s procurement policy, procedures and Integral Energy’s Code of Ethics.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively deal with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent self-management skills and initiative.
