Procurement Specialist
The Role
The Procurement Specialist has the responsibility for managing end to end procurement of materials and services for the organisation.
You will execute pre-planned strategic sourcing projects from cradle to grave and implement the contracts across the business from a centre led structure.
In addition, there will be a heavy focus on contract management as well as operational purchasing.
Position Duties
- Lead on mid level strategic sourcing events and implement the contracts into the organisation
- Meet with stakeholder groups to project manage the process
- Conduct sourcing and negotiation activities to agreed timescales
- Work collaboratively with the business to leverage scale and implement best total value/fit for purpose procurement solutions targeting year on year improvements with a total cost of ownership focus
- Achieve savings targets and improve processes across the categories
- Involvement in special projects as required by the Head of Procurement
Skills & Experience Required
- Demonstrated procurement experience within an engineering driven procurement function.
- Minimum three years experience as a procurement practitioner, with capabilities in all key aspects of the function (Including: cost and value analysis, sourcing, negotiations and supplier management).
- Tertiary qualified
- Ability to engage and influence at management level
- Ability to participate within cross-functional project teams to deliver against tight project deadlines
- Strong negotiation skills, track record of success
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Highly motivated and outcome driven
Strong SAP skills
