Procurement Specialist 

The Role

The Procurement Specialist has the responsibility for managing end to end procurement of materials and services for the organisation.

You will execute pre-planned strategic sourcing projects from cradle to grave and implement the contracts across the business from a centre led structure.

In addition, there will be a heavy focus on contract management as well as operational purchasing. 

Position Duties

  • Lead on mid level strategic sourcing events and implement the contracts into the organisation
  • Meet with stakeholder groups to project manage the process
  • Conduct sourcing and negotiation activities to agreed timescales
  • Work collaboratively with the business to leverage scale and implement best total value/fit for purpose procurement solutions targeting year on year improvements with a total cost of ownership focus
  • Achieve savings targets and improve processes across the categories
  • Involvement in special projects as required by the Head of Procurement 
     

Skills & Experience Required

  • Demonstrated procurement experience within an engineering driven procurement function.
  • Minimum three years experience as a procurement practitioner, with capabilities in all key aspects of the function (Including: cost and value analysis, sourcing, negotiations and supplier management).
  • Tertiary qualified
  • Ability to engage and influence at management level
  • Ability to participate within cross-functional project teams to deliver against tight project deadlines
  • Strong negotiation skills, track record of success
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Highly motivated and outcome driven
    Strong SAP skills
